School Story:
This is not a "school story,but I thought that some of you elderly sports fans would like to know that I started officiating high school basketball this year...some high school, some elementary, some intermediate...more of a "fun" thing than something for which to make money. I was gratified that I didn't get one fan, or coach...whatever...screaming at me for some shakey call that I made...and there were a couple.
I did get an odd request in the middle of a game....waiting for a player to show up on the sideline, two men, sitting right behind me in the stands asked if they could take a picture with me. I assured them that the IHSAA probably wouldn't be too exited about one of their officials takeing a picture in the middle of a game...but afterwards, I said, would be cool.
