William "Bill" Goettsch, 66, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. Bill was born Nov. 17, 1948, in Waterloo, the son of Robert William and Deloris (Hites) Goettsch. He married Lynn Munyer on Sept. 7, 1985, in Cedar Falls. Bill graduated from Waverly-Shell Rock High School in 1967, Ellsworth Junior College in Iowa Falls, and then Iowa State University in 1972, where he earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. He was employed in the inspection department at John Deere, retiring Dec. 31, 2003, after 30 years of employment. Survivors include his wife, Lynn Goettsch, of Cedar Falls; his mother, Deloris Goettsch, of Waterloo; his sister, Lynn A. (Stephen) Brase, of Plainfield; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his father and his father- and mother-in-law, Fred and Eleanor Munyer. Services were at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home with burial at 2:30 p.m. at Highland Home Cemetery, Ledyard. Visitation was from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, and one hour prior to service Monday at the funeral home. A memorial fund will be established.
