LeAnn Lois (Lindaman) Meier, 69, of Shell Rock, died Friday, July 6, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo, of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

She was born March 21, 1949, daughter of George and Beulah (Hartema) Lindaman in Waverly. She graduated from Waverly-Shell Rock High School in 1967. On July 26, 1969, she married Charles Meier at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Clarksville. LeAnn worked for many different businesses in the area, most recently at State Bank in Waverly.

 

She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waverly and the VFW Auxiliary Post 2208.

Survivors: her husband; a son, Chad (Amy) Meier of Shell Rock; two daughters, Kristin (Cherrish) Vaidiyan of Pella and Nicole (Brent) Dietz of Shell Rock; and nine grandchildren, Collin (Bethany), Levi and Josie Meier, Kaeleigh, Cole and Caleb DeWaard, Kyah Vaidiyan, Owen and Kinley Dietz.

Preceded in death by: her parents; a sister, Ronda Osgood; and a great-granddaughter, Sophie Meier.

 

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 9, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Waverly, with burial in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery-Artesian rural Waverly. Visitation is 3 to 6 p.m. today at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, and for an hour prior to services at the church.

Memorials: to Cedar Valley Hospice of Waverly or St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery Fund-Artesian.

She enjoyed making crafts, scrapbooking, and playing games and cards. The couple also enjoyed wintering in Mission, Texas, for 15 years. However, LeAnn’s great passion was spending time with her kids and grandchildren.
