William "Bill" Neal (1967)

MICHAEL HOBERT SWINTON (52), 1948-2001.  Died, Aug. 12, 2001, from  complications of cancer in Fallbrook, California.  He graduated from WSR in l967.  He attended Burnside-Ott Sch. Of Aviation and graduated with a Private Pilot and Instructor’s License.  He then enrolled at U. of I. in Iowa City and taught flying lessons to ROTC students.  In l969 he attended Rio Honda Jr. College for two years and graduated from Cal State Fullerton Univ. with a degree in Sociology.  He became a draftsman for a company that manufactured stepmotors.  He spent some time in Singapore managing a factory and while in China he sketched and designed a $100 million manufacturing building.  He was a child of aviation, of architecture of the age of engines and motors of moving forces and propulsion.  To his name, he has credits for 2 patents: one in air bearings and another in turbine generators.  He was married to Jan L. Swinton of Fallbrook.  They had one daughter Stephanie, and two sons Andrew and Jason.
