Leland Arthur Lillehaug passed away July 9, 2018.

Born Feb 11, 1927 on a farm near Lane, SC. Graduated as valediictorian from Lane High School in 1944. He enlisted in the U S Army and served withthe 71st Army Band in Panama

A graduate of Augustana College in Sious Falls SD, he attended the Academy of Music in Vienna, Austria as Augustana's first Fullbright Scholar.  He was Band Director at Waverly High School for Classes of  1954 1955 and 1956.. After leaving Waverly in 1956 he became Professor of Music and Drector of Bands at Augustana. Obtained his Phd for Eastman School of Music in 1962.  He retired from Augustana after 35 years in 1991.

He also Directed the Sioux Falls Municipal Band for 23 Years.
