Brent Jensen - Class Of 1967

Brent Jensen, 68, of Waverly, Iowa, died in his home, surrounded by his family, early Tuesday morning, May 9, 2017, of multiple myeloma. During his six and one-half years with this disease, Brent showed extraordinary character while continuing to work and remaining active. It was his always present, positive attitude that inspired everyone he met.

Brent was born on April 6, 1949, in Waverly, Iowa, the son of Nancy Elizabeth (Dawson) and Kermit Jensen. He was raised in Waverly, and graduated from Waverly-Shell Rock High School in 1967. Following his graduation from Iowa State University in 1971, he began his 45-year career with United Equipment Accessories, in Waverly. He really enjoyed his work and his coworkers.

Brent was a member of Waverly Lions Club and the North Iowa Touring Club. He was very energetic, enjoying both running and biking. He rode RAGBRAI thirty consecutive years and biked across the country twice! He also enjoyed the Drum and Bugle Corps, and Wartburg music events. He held many special relationships with family and friends.

Brent is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Grant and Nancy Jensen of Waverly, IA; his nieces and nephews, Jeremy and Jenny Jensen (Jenna and JaNiese) of Dubuque, IA, Chris and Alisha Jensen (Peyton, Thomas and Bennett) of Waverly, IA, JoLyn and Greg Berry (Lexi, Ryne, and Andrew), of Helena, AL, and Tim and Jenny Jensen (Jocelyn and Fletcher) of Waterloo, IA; long-time friends, Kathy Barney, Bob Krueger, Bob Freund, Tom and Debbe Baker, Mark Hanawalt, and many, many others. "Uncle" Brent had an extended family of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
